The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on July 03, 2026, issued proposal on Determination of levellised generic tariff for third year of Control Period (for FY 26-27) under Regulation 8 of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Tariff determination from Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations, 2024.
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) had earlier notified the RE Tariff Regulations, 2024 on June 12, 2024, which lay down the framework for tariff determination of various renewable energy (RE) projects such as small hydro, biomass, biogas, co-generation, and municipal solid waste-based power projects. These regulations also provide for project-specific tariffs for technologies like solar, wind, hybrid systems, and storage-based renewable energy projects on a case-by-case basis.
As per the regulations, CERC is required to determine generic tariffs annually for applicable RE projects during the control period. In line with this mandate, the Commission has now proposed to determine the generic tariff for the third year of the control period, covering the period from August 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
The proposed tariff details have been placed in Annexure-I, and the Commission has invited comments and suggestions from stakeholders on the proposal.
Stakeholders are required to submit their feedback by July 21, 2026, after which the Commission will finalize the tariff determination for the specified period.
